Timberframed houses.In 723 A.D.the anglo-saxon missonary St.Boniface, apostle of the Germans, felled "Thor´s Oak"(near the german town Fritzlar),one of the most important sacred sites of the Germans. This event marked the beginning of the Christianization of German tribes and lands beyond the Roman frontiers(text wikipedia).This was the beginning to use "the Holy Wood" as construction material to built houses (this is my personal opinion!- wolhoe).
